Eighth Graders Get Blue in Boston

On May 24, the eighth-grade students went on the annual class trip to Boston. A couple weeks before the trip, students organized themselves into small groups to ride on the bus. They were able to talk with friends, play on electronic devices, and watch movies such as La La Land and Jurassic Park. Some students brought candy and donuts to share with friends. Team G student Julia N. said, “The bus ride was the best part!”

After a fun bus ride, the students went on the Spirit of Boston Harbor for a short cruise. The three floor cruise ship included a DJ, food, and a nice view of the Boston Harbor. The array of food included mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, french fries, and salad with cookies and brownies for dessert. Students also loved the dance floor. Popular songs played the whole time and students were able to dance their hearts out. Even some teachers were dancing! Clearly, the trip will be remembered by everyone.

They ended the day with the Blue Man Group, a show that combines music, technology, and audience participation. Highlights include Team D teacher Ms. Becker was pulled on stage for part of the show, and students laughed when a late-comer was shown on screen, stopping the show. Students had a wonderful time as they engaged with the performers. The interactive show was a great way to end an amazing day. As one of the last class activities before high school, students were able to make many memories. It was definitely one of the best days of eighth grade.
